From this seminar exploring our new brief; ideas have been initialised form the research presented by the tutors.
Work by Elastic and Johnson, Fisher & Johnson, as well as Hanbury for Huge were presented; these were more of the title sequence style and focused on moving imagery. However they clearly demonstrated the programmes they were introducing especially in those that commenced the popular 'The Night Manager" programme for the BBC. Throughout, the style of glamour and crime was evident with seamless infusion of destructive and materialistic items.
However I felt much more interested in the works which were print based. The examples here were of D8 Magazine and Peter O'Toole- who's print output reflected his own personal interest in 'adidas' trainers. His fandom meant he didn't just get to illustrate this book but also design footwear for the brand.
Because of this, I am interested to create a printed book like the one above- b
ut further inspired by "The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories", in which has a cute, but quirky style to it. This was authored by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and published by Harper Colllins. Below are some images of the novel which I feel reflect something I would like to produce similarly in my own publication.
In order to link this to the content of my essay- a possible outcome is to produce a children's book in which a child with a typical 'punk' style is isolated due to his appearance. This could also unfold and reveal a moral towards to end of book in which good stories all have.
